Heavenly Father, I come in Jesus’ Name to thank you for being my refuge in times of trouble and for lifting me up when I am discouraged. “The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble” Psalm 9:9.
It is a privilege to know that no matter what situation I may be in, I can trust that You are in control and always know what is best because “…You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth” Psalm 86:15.
Like the psalmist David, I come to you with the request in Psalm 86:1-4. “Bow down Your ear, O LORD, hear me; for I am poor and needy. Preserve my life, for I am holy; You are my God; save your servant who trusts in You! Be merciful to me O Lord, for I cry to You all day long. Rejoice the soul of Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.”
Show me anything in my life that is a hindrance to You being able to work in and through me. “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You” Psalm 86:5.
As I grow in my walk with You, “teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name” Psalm 86:11.
Lastly, I yield myself to You to be used by You as an example to those that You want to show Your mercy and other attributes. “Show me a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, because You, LORD, have helped me and comforted me” Psalm 86:17.
Thank you for guiding my prayer with this Psalm. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
